Our Story
Karen spent 28 years working in London for a large corporate accountancy firm as a senior secretary, having previously worked for a building contractor where she first met Chris.
Chris dedicated 35 years to the same building contractor, working as a contracts manager until giving that up in 2022.
Together, we bring professionalism, organisation, reliability and a strong work ethic to everything we do.
Animals have always been a big part of our lives. Between us, we've cared for and loved a wide variety of pets including dogs, cats, tortoises, budgies, quail, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters.
We both hold certificates in pet first aid and animal care.
Our home is currently shared with two cats (Alfie and Daisy), three tortoises (Bonnie, Clyde and Tort) and some goldfish in our pond. We also look after our neighbour's cat whenever they’re away, entertain another neighbour's chickens (who pop in to see us every day) and being next door to a sheep farm, we're fortunate enough to be able to interact with their animals and even help out during lambing season.
Although we do not currently have dogs of our own due to our previous full-time careers (and having two cats!), we were both lucky enough to grow up with dogs. Karen had two much-loved Golden Retrievers and Chris grew up with two Westies. Our experience with dogs spans a lifetime, and our affection for them has never faded.
We are keen walkers and spend most weekends exploring the Kent countryside with a close friend and her springer spaniel. Walking with dogs brings us immense joy, as it combines the two things we’re really passionate about - our love of nature and animal companionship.
At K Nine Companions, we understand that your pets are a treasured member of your family. Therefore, our aim is to provide a safe, reliable and caring dog walking and pet pop-in service, rooted in trust, professionalism and a real love for animals, whilst ensuring your pet receives not only exercise, but also attention, companionship and genuine affection.

As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on building strong relationships with both pets and their owners, delivering peace of mind through a dependable service and heartfelt dedication.
